SCARWORK 2 - COURSE CONTENT

ScarWork 2: Integrating Scar Tissue into the Fascial Web

A 2-Day In-person Course for Hands-on Healthcare Providers

Course Description:

ScarWork 2 is intended for students who successfully completed the original course, ScarWork: Integrating Scar Tissue into the Fascial Web, and have been practicing ScarWork regularly. ScarWork 2 presents 20 new techniques applicable to specific scars/tissue qualities and also reviews the 20 techniques covered in the original ScarWork course.

Scars can often be symptomatic and may contribute to limited range of motion, pain, discomfort, tightness, and nerve-associated sensations at the site of the scar as well as in the tissues surrounding a scar. ScarWork is a gentle and effective manual therapy that can be seamlessly incorporated into client sessions to resolve symptomatic scar tissue. The in-person course offers hands-on learning and application of ScarWork techniques to ensure practitioners leave the course with skills to implement immediately into their practice. This course is appropriate for hands-on healthcare providers working with clients who have surgical scars, naturally-occurring scars, or burn scars, regardless of the scar age. ScarWork often provides relief for those with Dupuytren contracture as well.

ScarWork was created by Sharon Wheeler in the early 1970s. Today, she travels the world sharing her discoveries and has approved practitioners in multiple countries to teach ScarWork. You can learn more about Sharon and her work at sharonwheeler.com.
